Power supply testers are useful devices that plug into the atx connector from the power supply and sense the output of the voltages and amps.

There is something that you should know though. Power Supply Testers are not Always Correct. Power supply testers follow the atx wiring standard and likewise, the power supplies it tests must also follow the atx wiring standard. If the power supply wiring does not follow the atx standard then you are going to get a false reading on the power supply tester.

ATXPowerSupplies.com has identified several dozen power supplies and computers that DO NOT follow the atx wiring standard and likewise, will not test correctly on our testers. We are continually adding to this list, and if your computer or power supply is on this list then you need to know that it is not possible to test it with power supply testers.
